Our yard is on Effingham Common Road, next door to Bookham and a short run from Fetcham and Leatherhead. For KT22 and KT23 that makes same day concrete about as likely as it gets.
Yes, Surex Concrete delivers to Leatherhead, Fetcham, Great Bookham and Little Bookham. These are the closest towns to our Effingham yard, so a pour here is often the easiest one to fit in at short notice.
Getting to Leatherhead
The A246 runs from Effingham through the Bookhams into Leatherhead. Without traffic it's about 4 minutes to Bookham, 7 to Fetcham and 11 to Leatherhead town centre. With a run that short, a morning call can often turn into an afternoon pour, and a trench that needs another metre means a quick top up, not a second day.
Leatherhead town centre is the tight part. It has run on a one way system since the Swan Centre was built and the High Street was pedestrianised. Tell us the road and we'll time the truck around it. M25 junction 9 is just outside town, which suits trade customers with sites further out.
Pouring in Leatherhead
Leatherhead, Fetcham and the Bookhams grew up along a spring line, where the chalk of the North Downs dips under London Clay. Higher ground towards the Downs drains well. Lower ground near the Mole is wetter, often with a high water table, and needs a good sub-base.
The Mole rises quickly after heavy rain. It flooded Leatherhead in 1891, 1968 and again in December 2013, and the Environment Agency has a flood warning area for Leatherhead and Fetcham. If you're building near the river, settle the slab level with your designer before the pour.
Leatherhead itself is changing. The council's Transform Leatherhead plan includes an application to rebuild the Swan Centre and Bull Hill with up to 480 homes. Randalls Road has been a business address since Ronson moved its factory there in 1953, and it's now a business park.
Bookham
Bookham is the nearest place we deliver to, about 4 minutes from the yard. Great and Little Bookham share the KT23 postcode and the same spring line ground as Leatherhead, with chalk rising to the south towards the Downs and clay lower down.
Because it's so close, Bookham is where short notice works best. If your groundworker finishes the dig early, ring us and we can often be there the same afternoon.
Fetcham
Fetcham is mostly detached. The 2011 census counted over 1,600 detached houses across Fetcham East and West. Where the pour is at the back of the plot and the truck can't get close, a line pump reaches it.
Fetcham has its own conservation area around Fetcham Park House, and the part of the village by the Mole is in the same flood warning area as Leatherhead. Near the river, check levels before you pour.
Access and permissions
Most jobs need nothing more than a phone call. These are the ones that need a bit more.
Mole Valley has 26 conservation areas. Leatherhead's is one of only three with an Article 4 direction, so some driveway or boundary work there needs planning permission.
A new front driveway over 5m² needs permission unless it drains to a lawn or border. Dropped kerbs and parking bay suspensions are handled by Surrey County Council.
With the one way system and busy shopping streets, we'd rather agree a time than guess. Tell us the road and we'll plan the truck's arrival around it.
Guide figures only. Building control, your engineer or your groundworker sets the final grade and depth. Tell us what they've specified and we'll batch it on site. Concrete grades explained.
Measure the pour, enter it below, then call us with the figure. A rough estimate is enough - we batch to what the job takes.
Measure the area you're filling - a slab, footing, trench or base. Mixed units are fine.

Fill in all three dimensions to see the volume. We include a 5% wastage allowance.
Minimum delivery of 1m³ not met. We'll still quote 1m³ for the pour. Call 0800 669 6500 if you're unsure.
Tell us the volume and postcode and we'll confirm the right mix, the price and a delivery slot.
Surex Concrete delivers volumetric concrete to Leatherhead, Fetcham and the Bookhams from its yard in Effingham, about 11 minutes from Leatherhead town centre. The truck mixes on site, so you can order from 1m³ and pay only for what you use.
Often, yes. Bookham is about 4 minutes and Fetcham about 7 minutes from our yard, so short notice orders are easier here than anywhere else we cover. Ring us first thing to check.
Parts of it. The Environment Agency runs a flood warning area for the River Mole at Leatherhead and Fetcham, and the river flooded the town in 1968 and 2013. Agree slab levels with your designer if you're near the river.
A new front driveway over 5m² needs permission unless it drains to a lawn or border. Leatherhead's conservation area also has an Article 4 direction, so check with Mole Valley District Council if you're inside it.
Most domestic driveways use C25/30 laid 150mm to 200mm deep over a compacted sub-base. Footings are usually C20/25 or C25/30.
We deliver from 1m³. Orders under 3m³ carry a part load charge, and at 3m³ or more there isn't one.
Give us the postcode, a rough volume and how the truck gets in. We'll confirm the grade, the price and a delivery slot on the call.
