Volumetric concrete for Reigate, Woodhatch, South Park and Reigate Heath, about 25 minutes from our Effingham yard along the A25. Mixed on site from 1m³, with pump hire.
Yes, Surex Concrete delivers to Reigate and RH2, including Woodhatch, South Park, Reigate Heath and Wray Common, with volumetric concrete mixed on your site and a line pump for tight access.
Getting to Reigate
From Effingham we take the A25 through Dorking and Buckland, into Reigate along West Street. It's about 25 minutes without traffic. Surrey County Council is running a road safety scheme on this stretch between Dorking and Reigate, so there may be works on the way. We allow for it when we give you an arrival window.
The old town is compact, with the castle grounds in the middle and the High Street as the main shopping street. For a pour near the centre, tell us the road and whether the truck can stand on the drive or needs a bay.
Pouring in Reigate
Reigate changes ground faster than almost anywhere we deliver. The town centre and Reigate Heath sit on Folkestone sand, soft enough that it was mined for glassmaking. The Reigate Caves under the castle were dug into it. Priory Park is on the harder Hythe Beds. Woodhatch is on Weald Clay. North of the railway it turns to stiff Gault Clay, then chalk as you climb Reigate Hill.
In practice two extensions a mile apart can need very different footings. Clay in Woodhatch and north of the railway moves with the seasons and pushes footings deeper. Your building control officer sets the depth, and we batch whatever volume the trench turns out to need.
The houses are mixed. The 2011 census counted 2,487 detached houses, 2,853 semis, 1,378 terraces and 2,607 flats across Reigate and Woodhatch. Much of the older stock is Victorian and Edwardian, built after the railway arrived. New building is on the way too: up to 300 homes and a 65 bed care home were approved off Sandcross Lane in July 2025.
Access and permissions
Reigate's older streets come with more planning rules than most towns.
Reigate, Chart Lane, Somers Road and Wray Common. The council has Article 4 directions on most of its conservation areas, which bring external alterations, including some hard surfacing, under planning control.
Reigate Hill and Colley Hill are in the Surrey Hills National Landscape. On the northern edge of town, landscape rules can shape what a new drive or terrace looks like.
The Wallace Brook has flooded a small area south and west of the town centre. If you're near it, agree slab levels and drainage with your designer before the pour.
Guide figures only. Building control, your engineer or your groundworker sets the final grade and depth. Tell us what they've specified and we'll batch it on site. Concrete grades explained.
Measure the pour, enter it below, then call us with the figure. A rough estimate is enough - we batch to what the job takes.
Measure the area you're filling - a slab, footing, trench or base. Mixed units are fine.

Surex Concrete delivers volumetric concrete across Reigate and RH2 from its yard in Effingham, about 25 minutes away along the A25. The truck mixes on site, so you can order from 1m³ and pay only for what you use.
It varies street by street. The town centre and Reigate Heath are on sand, Woodhatch is on Weald Clay, and north of the railway it's Gault Clay then chalk. Clay usually means deeper footings.
A new front driveway over 5m² needs permission unless it drains to a lawn or border. Most of the borough's conservation areas, including those in Reigate, have Article 4 directions, so check with Reigate and Banstead Borough Council if you're in one.
Yes. A line pump runs from the road through a side passage or over a wall, up to about 100 metres, so the truck doesn't need to reach the back garden.
