Volumetric concrete for Banstead, Nork, Burgh Heath and Woodmansterne, about 12 miles from our Effingham yard. Mixed on site from 1m³, so you pay for what's poured.
Yes, Surex Concrete delivers to Banstead and the streets round it: Nork, Burgh Heath and Woodmansterne. Some of those have Epsom, Tadworth or Coulsdon postcodes, and we cover them all.
Getting to Banstead
Banstead sits high on the North Downs, about 12 miles and 26 minutes from our yard. The A217 dual carriageway runs past the west side of the town, with Nork on the far side of it, and the A2022 runs through the streets to the north.
The postcodes are confusing. Banstead itself is SM7, but parts of Nork are Epsom KT17, Burgh Heath is Tadworth KT20, and the northern end of Woodmansterne is Coulsdon CR5. They're all the same patch to us. Just give us the full address.
Pouring in Banstead
Under the topsoil most of Banstead is flint and chalk, at around 125 metres above sea level, and Nork rises to 175 metres. Chalk drains well most of the year. After a wet winter, though, the water table in the North Downs chalk can rise by several metres, which is why Surrey County Council asks for proper infiltration testing before it approves a soakaway.
Nork was farmland until the estate was sold for housing in 1923. It filled up over the next fifty years, with Rose Bushes in the 1960s and High Beeches in the 1970s, and the 2011 census counted 1,612 detached houses in Nork ward. Some of the big original back gardens now have new houses on them.
Here's the part that matters for a new driveway. After the flash flooding of 12 July 2021, Surrey County Council's report on Nork and the Tattenhams named paved front gardens with little or no drainage as one reason water poured onto Nork Way, Green Curve, Roundwood Way and Great Tattenhams. If you're replacing a front garden with a concrete drive, plan where the water goes before you pour.
Access and permissions
A few Banstead rules are worth knowing before you book a date.
A new front drive over 5m² needs planning permission unless it's permeable or drains to a lawn or border. In Nork it also helps with the surface water problem the council has already identified.
It covers Park Road and Mint Road, and since November 2024 the parish church, Garratts Hall and De Burgh Park. Most conservation areas in the borough have Article 4 directions.
Banstead Downs is a protected chalk grassland site, one of four commons looked after by the Banstead Commons Conservators. If you back onto one, check before you run a pump line across it.
Guide figures only. Building control, your engineer or your groundworker sets the final grade and depth. Tell us what they've specified and we'll batch it on site. Concrete grades explained.
Measure the pour, enter it below, then call us with the figure. A rough estimate is enough - we batch to what the job takes.
Measure the area you're filling - a slab, footing, trench or base. Mixed units are fine.

Surex Concrete delivers volumetric concrete across Banstead, Nork, Burgh Heath and Woodmansterne from its yard in Effingham, about 12 miles away. The truck mixes on site, so you can order from 1m³ and pay only for what you use.
It should. Surrey County Council's report on the July 2021 flooding named paved front gardens with little drainage as a cause of flooding on Nork Way, Green Curve and Roundwood Way. A new front drive over 5m² also needs planning permission unless it drains to a lawn or border.
Often, but not always. The chalk water table can rise several metres after a wet winter, so Surrey County Council asks for infiltration testing before approving a soakaway. Test first, then pour.
Yes. Burgh Heath has a Tadworth postcode and part of Woodmansterne a Coulsdon one, but both are next to Banstead and we cover them the same way.
Most domestic driveways use C25/30 laid 150mm to 200mm deep over a compacted sub-base. Footings are usually C20/25 or C25/30.
We deliver from 1m³. Orders under 3m³ carry a part load charge, and at 3m³ or more there isn't one.
Give us the postcode, a rough volume and how the truck gets in. We'll confirm the grade, the price and a delivery slot on the call.
