Volumetric concrete for Chertsey, Ottershaw, Lyne and Longcross, about 21 minutes from our Effingham yard via the M25. Mixed on site from 1m³, with pump hire.
Yes, Surex Concrete delivers to Chertsey and KT16, including Ottershaw, Lyne and Longcross. We come in off M25 junction 11, and the truck mixes the concrete on your site.
Getting to Chertsey
The quickest way from Effingham is the M25 to junction 11, the Chertsey interchange, where the A317 runs into town and the A320 heads to Woking. It's about 21 minutes without traffic. The junction is being upgraded with extra lanes and signals, so we check for works on the day.
We don't use Chertsey Bridge. The 1785 bridge over the Thames to Laleham is narrow and weight limited, and it leads away from town anyway. If your job is on the Laleham side, tell us and we'll plan the crossing.
Pouring in Chertsey
Chertsey town centre sits on a gravel terrace between the Thames to the north and the Bourne to the south, only 11 to 14 metres above sea level, with a naturally high water table. St Ann's Hill is the odd one out: a 77 metre island of Bagshot sand capped with clay. Ground on the hill drains. Ground by the rivers often needs extra sub-base, and sometimes pumping out before a pour.
Longcross Garden Village, on the old army vehicle testing ground by the M3, is the big new build. The southern phase alone was applied for at more than 1,500 homes, around half of Runnymede's housing target to 2030. The council is also working on regenerating the town centre.
For trade customers, Hanworth Lane south of the town is Chertsey's main industrial area, and Compass Group and Samsung both have their UK head offices in the town.
Access and permissions
Chertsey's rivers and listed buildings shape more jobs than its roads do.
The Bourne flooded around 130 properties in January 2003. In February 2014 the Environment Agency put in a temporary water-filled barrier, locally called the Chertsey Sausage, to protect about 155. Near the Bourne or Chertsey Meads, agree floor levels first.
The Chertsey Conservation Area, first designated in 1969 and reviewed in 2020, covers more than 40 listed buildings in the town centre. Check with Runnymede Borough Council before external works.
A new front drive over 5m² needs permission unless it drains to a lawn or border. Dropped kerbs and parking bay suspensions go through Surrey County Council.
Guide figures only. Building control, your engineer or your groundworker sets the final grade and depth. Near the rivers, send us the floor level and spec and we'll batch it on site. Concrete grades explained.
Measure the pour, enter it below, then call us with the figure. A rough estimate is enough - we batch to what the job takes.
Measure the area you're filling - a slab, footing, trench or base. Mixed units are fine.

Surex Concrete delivers volumetric concrete across Chertsey and KT16, including Ottershaw, Lyne and Longcross, from its yard in Effingham about 21 minutes away via M25 junction 11. The truck mixes on site, so you can order from 1m³.
We avoid it. Chertsey Bridge is narrow and weight limited, so we come into town from M25 junction 11 on the A317 instead.
Parts of it. The Bourne flooded about 130 properties in 2003, and in 2014 a temporary barrier protected about 155. Sites near the Bourne, the Thames or Chertsey Meads should agree floor levels and drainage before pouring.
Yes. Longcross, Lyne and Ottershaw are all in our Chertsey area, and we can supply builders and groundworkers there from 1m³ upwards.
Most domestic driveways use C25/30 laid 150mm to 200mm deep over a compacted sub-base. Footings are usually C20/25 or C25/30.
We deliver from 1m³. Orders under 3m³ carry a part load charge, and at 3m³ or more there isn't one.
Give us the postcode, a rough volume and how the truck gets in. We'll confirm the grade, the price and a delivery slot on the call.
